                        Trek to Everest  Taboche

  Taboche Is a very distinctive mountain of 6367m (20889 ft) And a close neighbor of chocolate. One glance is sufficient to appreciate that its routes are severely challenging. After sir Edmund Hillary’s American New Zealand team made an unsuccessful attempt in 1963 Taboche was put out of bounds to further climbing expeditions on religious grounds. However in 1974 yannick seigneur and a group of Chamonix guides made a clandestine ascent of the south East face. When the Nepalese authorities found out seigneur fled the country and was subsequently fined and banned from Nepal for five years. The mountain was later reopened and the second ascent was made ( legally by four Japanese climbers in 1985.

how to get Everest base camp from Kathmandu

From Kathmandu you can either fly tor walk to the Everest region. Those who fly to Lukla town the can start to trek same day. If they decide to walk from Jiri they have to drive one day to Jiri then the can walk to Everest base camp. From Jiri you need approximate 20 days to round trip Kathmandu. The Jiri is the historic and culturally fascination route followed by the Everest expeditions of the 1950s and 1960. If you fly to one of the mountain airstrips near Everest do not attempt a quick visit to the base camp because you won,t have has time to acclimatize. Allow at least eight of nine days to reach the Everest base camp if you fly to Lukla.
