Taboche Is a very distinctive mountain of
6367m (20889 ft) And a close neighbor of chocolate. One glance is sufficient to appreciate
that its routes are severely challenging. After sir Edmund Hillary’s American
New Zealand team made an unsuccessful attempt in 1963 Taboche was put out of
bounds to further climbing expeditions on religious grounds. However in 1974
yannick seigneur and a group of Chamonix guides made a clandestine ascent of
the south East face. When the Nepalese authorities found out seigneur fled the
country and was subsequently fined and banned from Nepal for five years. The
mountain was later reopened and the second ascent was made ( legally by four
Japanese climbers in 1985.
